An MWod Model for Post Surgery/Post Injury Rehab

Posted on May 30th, by Juliet in Blog, injury, injury model, injury progression, post surgery, rehab, rehab model, surgery.

Hey Mwodies,

I’m asked all the time to about returning to training after someone has been discharged or cleared medically after injury or surgery.  After having worked through about a million of these, it turns out I had a pretty simple template off of which to work.  So, if you are appropriate, here is my thinking.  As always, if you feel like you are over your head, get some help.  I bet there are some pretty badass providers in your gym that would love to consult with you.  After all, you aren’t going to go from biceps surgery to muscle up/snatch without a few steps (even if you are “cleared” to get back to your life.)  And this is the problem, people don’t get good advice when they are “transitional” athletes.  Mostly, the advice is to take is slow or given enough time, you’ll be fine.  We can do better.
